History

The Fat Dog Film Company was founded in 2004 by Managing Director, Michael Richards.

Michael has worked in the television and corporate video world for over 20 years, during that time working with many multi-national companies, national institutions and some of the biggest brands in the world. He has worked in pretty much every corner of the globe, and picked up a few awards on the way.

What’s in a name?

One of the questions we are asked very regularly is ‘where did the name come from?’

The original fat dog was a Spaniel cross called Ginny, although she wasn’t fat! She was, however, very furry. She often looked almost twice the size she was underneath, due to a thick covering of black and white fur, which had to be frequently clipped.

Although Ginny has not been around for many years now, her memory lives on!
