Digital Signage
Digital signage is
the use of computer driven screens (plasma or LCD) to deliver
advertising or information to people, replacing printed posters
or letterboards.
Stand-alone screen
with built-in control system. Constantly looping graphics, video
etc. Can be manually updated by disk or flash card.
Small simple
network. A number of screens throughout a store or building are
connected to a central computer. The screens all show the same
presentation. The presentation can be updated or changed as
needed. It is possible to pull information, such as news
headlines or weather forecasts, off the internet and display
this information on the screens.
Large network.
This can cover a series of networks belonging to one
institution, but in different buildings and possibly in
different countries. The information can be centrally
controllable, but made location specific.

offers in-store, information, advertising. Information can be
changed throughout the day, depending on the profile of people
in the shop.
